Itatiba, SP, Brazil – The Brazilian operations of OPW Fueling Components (OPW-FC) and OPW Fluid Transfer Group (OPW-FTG) have been joined to further strengthen the presence and actions of these important divisions of Dover Corporation in Brazil.
"The union of these companies will allow a significant increase in capacity to meet an increasingly demanding market with high quality products, competitive costs and a quick speed of response." said Fernando Whitaker, Managing Director of the company resulting from the merger. "Combining the talents and capabilities of both companies will make our customers the biggest beneficiaries. We will be bringing new products to the Brazilian and South American markets soon.".
Joint operations of the new company, now called "OPW", will be located in the modern factory in Itatiba, Sao Paulo, where OPW-FC has operated for the past few years.
"We expect to complete the merger by the end of March," says Fernando, "and already started the migration of people, stock and equipment that were in São Paulo."
OPW Fueling Components (OPW-FC) is a recognized world leader in the design and manufacture of products, systems and solutions for the secure supply of liquid fuels and gas, environmental and fuel inventory control. Its products include nozzles, valves, rotary union, leak containment systems and automatic systems for measuring and monitoring. Operating for more than 115 years, the OPW-FC has plants in North America, Europe, India and China, and several sales offices around the world.
OPW Fluid Transfer Group (OPW-FTG) consists of market leading companies, each dedicated to designing, producing and distributing solutions for handling, processing, transferring and transporting fluids; serving the needs of the chemical, petroleum, cargo terminals, rail and cargo trailers. Their best-known brands are Civacon, Knappco, Midland and OPW Engineered Systems. OPW-FTG has plants in North America, Europe, India, China and sales offices in other countries.
Fernando Whitaker, 45, has been Managing Director of OPW-FC since October 2006. He graduated from the University of São Paulo as a Production-Mechanical Engineer, obtained an Executive MBA from the BSP and has attended various courses in Brazil and abroad. He worked for more than 10 years at Emerson Electric Company, where he was Director of a business unit. He has also held managerial and executive positions in GE-Dako, Sandoz and Tecumseh.
