Mason, OH –In an effort to align its resources to further enhance the organization's ability to provide its global customer bases with industry-leading solutions, OPW Fluid Transfer Group has streamlined its four business units and eight global operations into two global business units: OPWFTG Global Transportation and OPWFTG Global Chemical & Industrial. OPWFTG's market-leading brands include Civacon, Midland, Hiltap and OPW Engineered Systems.
The OPWFTG Global Transportation Business Unit will consist of two market-focused entities: Global Rail and Global Cargo Tank/Truck. To ensure the smooth transition to and operation of the Global Cargo Tank/Truck Business Unit, OPWFTG has appointed Simon Hill as Director of the business unit. In this position, Hill will report to Tom Zant, Vice President of the Global Transportation Business Unit.
Since 2006, Hill has been Director of Engineering for Civacon, an OPWFTG company based in Kansas City, MO, and a leading provider of cargo tank components and systems. In this role, Hill has been responsible for all elements of mechanical and electrical engineering for the company, including new-product development, manufacturing and technical support. He has also been in charge of Civacon's manufacturing facility and all quality control, ISO and product-management functions.
Hill originally joined Civacon as a Product Manager in 2005 and prior to that held the position of Vice President of Sales for Houston, TX-based Emco Wheaton's Fluid Transfer Division. In all, he brings nearly 30 years of experience to his new position with OPWFTG's Global Transportation Business Unit. Hill earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Leeds Polytechnic University in England.
