OPW, a Dover company (NYSE: DOV) and a global leader in fluid-handling solutions, is proud and honored to announce that it will observe a year-long celebration of the company’s 125th anniversary in 2017. OPW was founded as the Ohio Pattern Works & Foundry Company in Cincinnati, OH, and was officially incorporated in 1892, a year in which several other very significant events occurred: the first official basketball game was played, the Pledge of Allegiance was first recited in schools and John Philip Sousa began a 12-year tour as director of the U.S. Marine Band, during which time he premiered many of his most famous marches.

Following today’s announcement from Dover [link attached] on the completion of the acquisition of Wayne, former OPW President David Crouse has been named president of Dover Fueling Solutions (DFS). DFS will be comprised of Tokheim, ProGauge, Fairbanks, Wayne and OPW’s FMS business.

SKOKIE, IL – August 5, 2015 – Midland Manufacturing, part of OPW, plans to launch three new products – two pressure relief valves (PRVs), the High-FlowX™ and the Smart-Flow™, and a detachable handle for bottom outlet valves, Tanktite. Midland says these three new products will help customers meet DOT and Transport Canada rules for rail tank cars in North America.

Midland was recognized for its ongoing support of the Chlorine Institute's TRANSCAER Program. TRANSCAER (Transportation Community Awareness and Emergency Response) is a voluntary national outreach effort to help communities prepare for and respond to a possible hazardous materials transportation incident.

Built specifically for the rail transport of ethylene oxide – a toxic inhalation hazard – Midland's innovative A-1076 is the result of customer feedback and industry demand for a product that can survive a tank-car rollover.

Midland Manufacturing, the global leader in railroad tank car safety valves and equipment, and a division of OPW, will now offer repair services of railcar valves in addition to its Valve Remanufacturing & Repair Program. Standard repair services of general and pressure railcar valves will consist of testing, cleaning, collecting of data, replacing soft goods (i.e., gaskets), assembling and final testing.
