For the last few decades, analog non-permissive overfill-detection systems have sidelined tank trailers. Performing manual diagnostics to find the source of the problem, which likely requires a trip to a repair shop, is time-consuming, and it can halt a fuel delivery operation. Having to search for the cause of this type of tank trailer issue is becoming a thing of the past, however, as new digital systems offer real-time diagnosis.

In a move that will provide extra flexibility for fuel retailers, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a final ruling to give gasoline blended with up to 15% ethanol (E15) a year-round 1 psi Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) waiver during the summer. Previously, retailers in some states could not sell E15 from June 1 to September 15.
