The OPW Makers' Meet is an annual competition among OPW employees who team up to identify a customer challenge and propose a new, breakthrough product or process to solve that challenge. The winning team members Bryan Clever, Matt Lauber, Mike Schubert and Hugues Seumo selected the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center to receive its $2,500 OPW donation.

The Dover Sons & Daughters Scholarship recognizes outstanding high school seniors and current college students who are the children of Dover employees and who have demonstrated excellence through their academic record, test scores, leadership abilities and through their extracurricular activities and work record.

Preferences varies when it comes to choosing between straight pipes and pipe coils. Some find pipe sticks easier to handle on site, while others prefer coils and having joint-less pipe runs.

Especially when using pipe coils it is a good idea to always start by laying out and installing the longest pipe run, then proceed with the second longest and so on. This way, if a mistake is done, either when measuring and cutting the pipe, or when welding the termination and end fittings, the pipe can be used for one of the shorter pipe runs instead.
